Here's an easy recipe for Tawa Pulao that serves 2-3 people:

Tawa Pulao Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of leftover cooked Basmati rice
  • 1 cup of mixed vegetables (carrots, peas, beans, etc.)
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tomato, finely chopped
  • 1 green chili, finely chopped
  • 2-3 cloves of garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1 tsp Red Chilli Powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnishing

Cooking Instructions For Tawa Pulao:

  • In a pan, heat 2 tbsp of oil over medium flame. Once the oil is hot, add 1 tsp of cumin seeds and let them splutter.
  • Add 1 finely chopped onion, 1 green chili, and 2-3 cloves of chopped garlic. Saute them until they turn golden brown.
  • Add 1 finely chopped tomato and cook until it becomes soft and mushy.
  • Add 1 cup of mixed vegetables (carrots, peas, beans, etc.) and saute them for 2-3 minutes.
  • Add 1/2 tsp turmeric powder, 1 tsp red chilli powder, 1 tsp of coriander powder, 1 tsp of garam masala powder, and salt to taste. Mix well and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  • Add 2 cups of cooked rice and mix well with the masala. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the rice gets heated up, stirring occasionally.
  • Turn off the flame and garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
Your Tawa Pulao is ready to serve. Enjoy it hot with raita or plain yogurt.
